Plan the perfect wedding day

While searching the web for wedding ideas I came across a lot of different wedding websites that I found helpful. Out of all the different sights I visited these were my favorite. I found all of these to be easy to navigate and had a lot of useful information.

The Great Bridal Expo!!!!!

The Great Bridal Expo is a great place to find everything for your wedding, and honeymoon in one place.
I have gone to the bridal expo twice and I have come across a lot of interesting vendors and fun ideas that I had not thought of before. The expo is a great way to personally interact with some of the vendors and get a more one on one feel rather than just looking at a website.
If you have the time I suggest getting your fiance or bridesmaids together heading to the expo just to see whats out there, and possibly win some free stuff for you wedding!
Best part you can get free tickets for the expo by going to their website below and entering the code BGPFT when purchasing the tickets

Dream Weddings....?????

Dreams weddings sound like a wonderful idea but can sometimes be a very dangerous concept. Most wouldn't agree so I guess I should explain. Dreaming is always fun because it is like trying and clothing and seeing if it fits without actual commitment. Where dreams can get dangerous is when the decision has been made to officially commit to the dream and attempt to make it a reality. Life doesn't always work out like in the movies, so there are many bumps along the way to making your dream happen, and sometimes we never quite recover from those bumps and we need to come to the realization that our original dream may now be "dead" and we need to start dreaming all over again. Most little girls have a "Dream wedding" in mind from the day they learn what a wedding is! They plan everything just like in the movie Bride Wars, where two girls Liv & Emma grow up always thinking about their dream weddings and almost loose their friendship in the process of trying to make them a reality.
Sometimes while on the journey to realizing your dream wedding, some tend to loose sight of what's really important. A wedding isn't about the over the top flowers we choose for the centerpieces, or the location with the greatest view, or even what your wear....a wedding is about two people joining together till death do they part! In reality all that really matters at a weddings is that the key players are present, aka the bride, groom, officiant, & witnesses. Sometimes we get so hung up on trying to invite everyone we've ever known, and trying to please everyone when in reality the only people that need to be happy are the bride and groom! I myself is guilty of this because Ive been trying so hard to make my wedding convenient for everyone when in the end all I'm getting is a headache and no closer to a wedding! Always remember that a wedding is about the bride and grooms love for each other and should reflect that rather than doing what expected because that what everyone has at their wedding. If you have an unlimited budget I so go for the dream and make it happen...but if you don't no need to worry you can still have the wedding of your dreams, just depend on which one of those dreams you choose to follow.

Engagement party is over....now the planning begins...or does it???

The engagement party was an amazing success and I wouldn't have changed a thing, except wish that it was longer! Everyone had an amazing time, especially myself and my fiance and we now have wonderful memories and made us look forward to the wedding. That was May...it's now September and you guessed it I'm still unemployed and unable to plan a thing for my wedding! Now we are left trying to decided if we put the wedding on hold until we can afford something close to our dream wedding or just take a ride to city hall! He's very against city hall and is determined on a big family wedding but I guess I just want to be his wife and I don't know if the big wedding matters so much anymore. Don't get me wrong I think it would be great to have everyone we know and love present when we say our vows but is it worth the cost? The more an more I think about it the more I question why spend all that money on one day rather than a down payment on a house? We can agree on one thing..the date, rain or shine we will be married on November 5, 2011, aka our 3 year anniversary! I guess we'll just have to wait and see where this journey takes us.

Less Than A Month Till Engagment Party!

As promised I'm keep track of my journey to my wedding and so far no major disasters, but still a whole lot left to do! I have come to realize it is a whole lot easier to plan someone else event than my own! I keep second guessing some of my choices wondering if there is a better option or another route I could have take that would have been better....its a big headache! The only thing i haven't second guessed is my wedding dress to bad as of right now I have no where to wear it too!

The engagement party however is going pretty smoothly so far. I'm still missing the centerpieces and favors but I did finally get my dress for the party! It's funny cause this will be my families first engagement party, and truth be told I've never been to one either but I thought it would be a great way to celebrate and have a good time with people we love! Every one in my family keeps asking me what to wear and if we're registered somewhere cause my family cant think of anything to bring but food and we got that covered.

I'm also debating on a after party location...people have mentioned the obvious choice because it's local and cheap which makes sense. Also by that point we'll be pretty tipsy so it wont really matter where we go as long as the party keeps on going! I just hope it all comes together and everyone has a good time. I'll keep you posted.....

Not like on tv!!!

As far back as I can remember Ive watch characters and real people on tv get engaged, plan a wedding and live happily ever after....as Ive come to find out not so easy in real life!

I met my fiance in September of 2008 when he came over my house to meet up w/ my roommate. Needless to say it wasn't exactly love at first sight for me (like in the movies) but the more time we spent together the less I wanted to be apart from him. We had our first official date in November 5, 2008..we made our relationship official on Valentines Day 2009, and we got engaged on December 31, 2009!

I knew it wouldn't be a piece of cake to plan my up coming wedding, but when I found my perfect wedding dress just a few weeks after i got engaged and it was only the 4th dress I tried on I figured "this won't be so hard". Boy do I wish I never made that statement...it totally jinxed me and now I have no idea in which direction I'm going! This is why I have decided to keep this log of my journey! Enjoy!!
